The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) is a premier research and academic institution located on the Quaid-i-Azam University campus in Islamabad. Established in 1957, PIDE has been at the forefront of economic research and policy analysis in Pakistan for over six decades.
As a think tank, PIDE bridges the gap between academic research and government policy-making. Our researchers produce rigorous, evidence-based analysis on Pakistan's most pressing economic challenges — from poverty reduction and social development to trade policy, energy economics, and macroeconomic management.

The PIDE Internship Program was established to provide hands-on research experience to outstanding students from universities across Pakistan. The program immerses interns in PIDE's research ecosystem, where they work alongside senior economists on policy-relevant projects.
Interns are assigned to one of PIDE's 14 research centers based on their academic background and research interests. Each intern works under the direct supervision of a PIDE researcher who provides mentorship and guidance throughout the internship period.
