PIDE offers an internship program designed to provide hands-on research experience under the mentorship of PIDE's distinguished faculty.

The Summer Internship is our flagship program. Interns work full-time at PIDE, contributing to ongoing research projects while attending workshops on research methodology, econometrics, and academic writing. The program culminates in a final presentation where interns showcase their research contributions.
What You'll Do
During your internship, your work will include:
- Literature Reviews — Survey existing research on your assigned topic and identify gaps
- Data Collection & Management — Gather, clean, and organize data from various sources
- Quantitative Analysis — Apply statistical and econometric methods using Stata, R, or Python
- Research Writing — Contribute to research papers, policy briefs, and working papers
- Presentation — Present your findings at PIDE seminars and workshops
- Policy Engagement — Attend policy seminars and understand the research-to-policy pipeline
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program at a recognized university
- Major in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related social science discipline
- Strong academic record (minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 or equivalent)
- Proficiency in quantitative methods and statistical software (Stata, R, or Python preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the selected program
Application Process
Step 1: Online Registration
Create an account on the PIDE Internship Portal and complete the registration form with your basic information.
Step 2: Email Verification
Verify your email address and set your account password.
Step 3: Complete Your Profile
Fill in your academic details, research interests, and upload required documents (CNIC, university recommendation letter, CV, transcript).
Step 4: Review & Submission
Review your application for completeness. The PIDE admissions team will verify your documents.
Step 5: Center Allocation
Based on your research interests and qualifications, you will be allocated to a research center.
Step 6: Supervisor Assignment
A PIDE researcher will be assigned as your supervisor. You will receive an orientation briefing.
Step 7: Begin Your Internship
Report to PIDE on the start date and begin your research journey!
